Libya : Eni Still Plans to Invest $25 Billion in Libya Over 10 Years

According to Business Week (29/08/10), "Eni SpA, Italy’s biggest oil company, still plans to invest $25 billion euros in Libya over the next 10 years, Chief Executive Officer Paolo Scaroni said at a conference in Italy yesterday. His comments were confirmed by an Eni spokesman today.
Eni first announced in 2007 a plan to invest $28 billion in Libya over a 10-year period. The following year, the Rome-based company renewed its exploration and drilling rights in Libya until 2042."

Egypt : New PPP law in Egypt will be ready in September

According to the Website of Egyptian Ministry of Finance (29/08/10), "On May 16th the Finance Ministry said that they were beginning to prepare the executive rules of the law, which delineates how the private sector may participate in infrastructure and public sector projects.

Finance Minister Youssef Boutros-Ghali said that he formed a joint legal committee including the heads of the finance, budget and partnership sector as well as his legal experts, to formulate the rules."

Libya : Libya's reserves of foreign exchange rose to 139 billion dollars.

According to Libya Online (29/08/10), "The Director of Research and Statistics Central Bank of Libya, Dr. Ali Shembish reserves, Libya's foreign exchange rose to 139 billion dollars in 2010, while he was in last year 2009, an estimated 136 billion U.S. dollars .. He said in a statement to the newspaper Qurina that the rate of growth in non-oil production will reach 7% end of the year, while it may not exceed the rate of growth in oil production of the 1%; as a result of lower oil prices, adding that the inflation rate would be 2.5% "

EU : Industrial new orders up by 2.5% in euro area

According to Eurostat (29/08/10), "In June 2010 compared with May 2010, the euro area1 (EA16) industrial new orders index2 rose by 2.5%. In May3 the index increased by 4.1%. In the EU271, new orders increased by 2.4% in June 2010 after a rise of 4.0% in May3. Excluding ships, railway & aerospace equipment4, for which changes tend to be more volatile, industrial new orders grew by 1.6% in the euro area and by 1.8% in the EU27.

Cyprus : Cyprus wine festival opens in Limassol on Friday

According to Financial Mirror (29/08/10), "The 49th Wine Festival, held annually in the southern coastal town of Limassol, the main winegrowing region of Cyprus, will open its doors on Friday.
The Wine Festival, to last until September 5, is hosted at the Limassol Municipal Park, as every year, with the participation of the four wineries of Limassol. Thousands of local and foreign visitors are expected to enjoy the festival.
