Republic of Cyprus emblemThe Cyprus Trade Centre is the Commercial Section of the Cyprus Embassy, operating as an extended arm of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism. It was founded in 1999 and is one of the eleven export missions of the Republic of Cyprus.

Its primary role is the promotion of the trade and economy interests of Republic of Cyprus in Egypt and Libya, through promoting and facilitating the expansion of exports of goods and services, attracting foreign investment and monitoring imports.

The role includes:

  • Promoting Cyprus as an International Business and Services Centre.
  • Encouraging foreign investment and stimulating business interest in Cyprus.
  • Developing commercial relations and business contacts with importers.
  • Presenting and promoting Cypriot products and services by means of advertising, public relations, personal contacts and other activities
  • Establishing and maintaining close contacts with the State Institutions, Chambers of Commerce, Trade Associations and International Associations.
  • Enhancing the image of Cyprus as a reliable trading partner.
  • Organizing trade missions for Cypriot exporters to Egypt and Libya.
  • Organizing active participation of Cypriot exporters in trade fairs and exhibitions in Egypt and Libya
  • Encouraging businessmen from Egypt and Libya to participate in trade fairs and exhibitions in Cyprus
  • Organizing business trips to Cyprus for prominent traders and Journalists.
  • Identifying marketing opportunities through market research and monitoring of trends and developments with a view to fitting products into markets.
  • Providing lists of contacts for importers/exporters, market intelligence concerning business opportunities in Egypt and Libya
  • Dealing with trade and business inquiries and providing essential information
